Lead Times

The three time inputs planning runs on — manufacturing, inbound shipping, and warehouse transfers — with learned actuals.

What you'll need

Vendors and locations set up. Planning quality tracks lead-time accuracy more than any other input.

The three tabs

Planning → Lead Times: 1. Manufacturing — days each vendor takes to produce, with an optional buffer. Product-level overrides beat the vendor default. 2. Inbound Shipping — routes from a vendor (or origin) to a destination location, with per-SKU additional days for oversized items and a default route as fallback. 3. Warehouse Transfers — transit days between your own locations (and optional per-unit cost), used for redistribution recommendations.

Learned lead times

Once you have PO and shipment history, each row shows what reality has been — e.g. "~28d from 6 POs" — computed from the dates on your actual POs and shipments. Transfer rows show mean/median actual days and the delta vs. your configured number, color-coded when it drifts. Update the manual number when the actuals disagree with your assumption.

How the pieces combine

For a reorder recommendation, Ventorie adds: manufacturing lead (vendor) + inbound shipping (route to that destination) + your safety buffer. For a redistribution, it uses the warehouse-transfer time instead. That sum is why the same product can have different "Reorder by" dates at different warehouses.
